Alexander "Bill" Von Stade Jr. - April 30, 2011
Alexander ‘Bill’ Von Stade Jr., born and raised in Wauneta, Neb., passed away on his 86th birthday, April 30, 2011, in Clearlake, Calif.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Edith (Hatch) Von Stade; loving daughter and son-in-law Elaine (Von Stade) and Joe Parrish of Livermore, Calif.; loving son and daughter-in-law Alex II and Yuki Von Stade of San Leandro, Calif.; loving son-in-law Jim Love of San Leandro, Calif.; dear sister and brother-in-law Pat (Von Stade) and Dale Flowers of Vacaville, Calif.; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchilden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving oldest child, Linda Love in 2005, and by his parents and eight sisters and their spouses.
Bill was a 32 degree Mason, an expert woodworker, a WWII vet, a ham radio operator, and a mechanic who could fix anything.
?He was known for his great wit and sense of humor.
?He and Edith were married in the Wauneta Methodist Church in July, 1948.
?A Masonic service with military honors was held in Clearlake, Calif., on May 6, 2011.
Arrangements were handled by Jones & Lewis Mortuary, Clearlake, Calif.
An additional service is planned for a future date at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.
