Wauneta-Palisade junior high teams wrapped up their seasons in October.
The football team beat Southwest and Wallace, but lost to Paxton in six-man and lost to Maywood/Hayes Center and Hitchcock County in eight-man and finished 2-3.
“We had a good season overall, the boys competed very well and had a great attitude,” coach Randy Geier said. “I am looking forward to working with this year’s eight graders at the high school level next year.”
Geier added that the team worked hard on fundamentals and player development over winning.
“I appreciate the hard work, knowledge and dedication of Coach Jacob Pritchard,” Geier said. “High school aides Aiden Kennicut, Braxton McKinney and Grant Walker also did a good job.”
The junior high girls’ volleyball team went 5-4 with wins over Dundy County-Stratton, McCook St. Pats and Medicine Valley and twice over Hitchcock County. Losses were to Southwest, Wallace, Maywood/Hayes Center and Paxton.
The team was led by Terra Higgins with assistance from Tori Guillen. To read the full storyy, subscribe to the e-edition online or call the Breeze at 308-394-5389 to subscribe to the print edition.
