Wayne Omer Sharp - January 09, 2011

Wayne Omer Sharp was born Aug. 18, 1920, at Imperial, Neb., to Claude LeRoy and Pearl May (Flory) Sharp.
He attended grade school at Enders, Neb., and graduated from Chase County High School in 1939.
Wayne married Lois Maxine Forsyth on April 20, 1944, in Beatrice, Neb., and the couple settled on a farm near Enders, Neb., where they lived and farmed for many years. Wayne was a hard working farmer, a dedicated and loving father and grandfather, a simple man of few words.
Wayne passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 9, 2011, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial. He was 90 years of age.
Wayne was a member of the Church of the Brethren of Enders, Neb., where he was a church deacon. He was a Farm Bureau member and an avid sports fan. He was very involved with his children and grandchildren’s activities. He belonged to a bowling league and attended many Husker football games.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois, in 1992; four children: Cynthia Louise Sharp, Larry Wayne Sharp, Keith Allen Sharp and Sarah Ann Sharp; one grandson, Samuel Dean Hoffman.
Survivors include daughter Donna and husband, Jim Messerer, of Axtell, Neb.; daughter Ruth and husband, Steve Lindholm of Parker, Colo.; daughter, Janette Peterson of Enders; daughter, Sandra and husband, John Hoffman, of McPherson, Kan.; and son, Daryl and wife, Julie, of Imperial, Neb.; grandchildren: Jenny and Teri Messerer, Troy Newman, Tab and wife, Misty, Newman, Sid and wife, Teresa, Peterson, Russ Peterson, Eric and wife, Chris, Peterson, Angela and husband, Ty Fickenscher, Sarah and husband, Levi Mason, Julia and husband, Celso Santillan, Jeremy Hoffman, Alex and Jared Sharp; great grandchildren: Jeremy Marrero, Zachery Newman, Brie and Parker Newman, Luke Peterson, Samantha Peterson, Mercedes Peterson, Joseph, Maxine and Krystal Fickenscher, Miriam and Titus Mason, Fabian Santillan; great, great grandchildren: Trae Newman and Alexis Marrero; sisters, Neva Canfield and husband, John, of Sacramento, Calif., Veraldine Hansen of Sacramento, Calif. and Zella Chamberlain, Littleton, Colo.
Funeral services for Wayne Sharp were held Friday morning, Jan. 14, 2011, 10:30 a.m. (MT) at the Church of the Brethren, Enders, Neb., with Rev. Francis Baker and John Hoffman officiating.
Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Wayne’s memory.
