The Wauneta Breeze
Wauneta’s Santa Saturday is almost here and more great prizes keep getting added to the list of Chamber Drawing booty.
Among the latest additions: a meat package sampler from HomeTown Agency: $50 in Chamber Bucks from Sinner’s Paint and Body Shop; and gift certificates from Tommy’s Sports Club and the Hair Chateau.
An afternoon of holiday cheer is in the works for this Saturday, Dec. 20, as the Wauneta Chamber prepares for the Santa Saturday free matinee and prize drawings — and the Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department makes plans to assist Santa Claus as he makes an early stop in Wauneta.
Entry boxes can be found around town for everyone to sign up for the Santa Saturday drawings and lists of prizes are on display.
Other goodies included among this year’s prizes include an LG 19-inch LCD high-definition TV; a Corsair Windows XP computer system which includes a 17-inch monitor, keyboard, hard drive and 3 months of DSL internet service if the winner is a BWTelcom customer; and a 52-week movie pass to the Chateau Theatre, all compliments of BWTelcom; $100 in Chamber Bucks from Chase County Community Hospital Clinic; a set of Motorola two-way radios from Southwest Public Power District; four $20 bundles of Chamber Bucks from the Wauneta Chamber; four turkeys from Doetker Grinding; two WP Bronco bag/blankets from Susie’s Creative Stitches; two $25 gift certificates from Walgren’s Super Market; Root Candle from The Gift Shop at Country Clipper and Charm; and a Bob Mackie rolling duffel bag from Valley Bank and Trust.
To be eligible for the Santa Saturday drawings you must be 18 or older and you must be present to win.
The drawings will be held around 3 p.m. MT after the free matinee showing of “Bolt” which begins at 1:30 p.m. MT at the Chateau, with Santa expected to make his special appearance around 3 p.m. also.
Once Santa is done handing out treats and helping with the Chamber Drawings he will be available for photos with youngsters at the gazebo. Bring your own camera or let the Wauneta Breeze snap some pictures for you, with complimentary photos to be made available for pick up at the Breeze office later this month.
The Saturday afternoon matinee showing of Walt Disney’s “Bolt” is made possible by the Wauneta Women of Today.
While admission to the movie is free, they will be accepting donations of canned food items and dry goods to pass along to the local food pantry.
The recent installation of the new digital surround sound system will bring an added element of thrills to this weekend’s movie.
