A daylong celebration of community spirit helped Wauneta area residents kickoff the Christmas season last week.

An overflow crowd was on hand at the Senior Center Friday night for the soup and dessert supper festivities which capped a day of holiday open houses throughout Wauneta as well as the Wauneta Chamber’s Christmas Mystery Hunt. More than 50 participants made enough open house stops and got enough of their Mystery Hunt game cards marked to qualify for the drawing featuring four great prizes purchased at Wauneta Chamber businesses, with everyone encouraged to shop at home when possible this holiday season.
