Relief is coming to those selected for summer jury duty in Chase County.
County commissioners Dave Hogsett, Chuck Vette and Don Weiss, Jr. approved the installation of central air for the courtroom and adjoining hallway.
Troxell’s Heating and Appliance’s bid of $6,367.19 for equipment and installation was accepted, as well as Brophy Electric’s wiring bid of $5,995.
One commercial unit will be installed and run though the attic into the courtroom.
A mini-split unit will be used to cool the hallway.
Tying into the project is cleaning and organizing the courthouse attic.
Commissioners hope to add shelving while getting rid of unneeded objects.
The new ambulance should be delivered soon and discussed with the commissioners which old ambulance would become surplus.
The next meeting of the Chase County Commissioners will be Oct. 6 at 8:00 a.m. MT at the Chase County Courthouse.
