Graduation set for 10:30 a.m.

MT/11:30 a.m. CT Saturday

Commencement ceremonies for Wauneta-Palisade’s Class of 2015 will be this Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. MT/11:30 a.m. CT at the Wauneta Attendance Center gymnasium.

Lesley Towery has been named valedictorian. Hannah Nordhausen and Nicole Strand will share salutatorian duties.

The valedictorian and two salutatorians will speak at graduation, as will class president Christi Christner. 2004 WP graduate Ashley Spahn will serve as the ceremony’s guest speaker.

Juniors Paul Behrends and Ellie Lee will be the junior marshals. Cameo Rector, Tryssta Duvel, Cheyenne Cavanaugh and Dakota Borchard will be junior ushers.

The Class of 2015 chose teal and silver as their class colors. The class flower is the gerber daisy and the class song is “I Lived” by One Republic.

A quote by George Bernard Shaw is the class motto: “Life is not about finding yourself; Life is about creating yourself.”

Today (Thursday) is the seniors’ last day of school.
