A single-vehicle rollover accident 1.2 miles south of Wauneta early Sunday morning resulted in injuries, according to Chase County Sheriff’s office reports.
Tanner Trisdale, 24, of Cario, Neb., was driving south on the blacktop, 346 Avenue, on Wauneta’s south divide in the early morning hours. Trisdale’s 1989 GMC Sierra single cab pickup rolled several times before coming to rest.
The Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department, Wauneta EMS and Chase County Sheriff’s Department were called out to the accident at 12:59 a.m. Sunday morning.
Trisdale was transported to the Chase County Community Hospital and later life flighted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Trisdale told the Breeze he was ejected from the pickup and sustained multiple injuries. He stated his injuries included a tear in the lining of his esophagus, a cut that required staples in the top of his head, a bruised lung, torn ligaments in his left shoulder, bite through his tongue and multiple cuts and scrapes.
Trisdale expected to be released from the hospital in Kearney on Tuesday.
Chief Deputy Mike Dukes said charges are pending as speed and alcohol were suspected factors in the accident.
