Already short in numbers, the Wauneta-Palisade track team travelled to Bertrand for the RPAC meet with three athletes unable to compete.
Senior Abbie Fanning continues to recover from an ankle injury. Fellow senior Landon Jutten was sick and teammate Chris Carl was gone for personal reasons.
Wes Anderjaska placed third in the 800 meter run and fifth in the 1600 meter run. Anderjaska’s time in the 1600 meters was a personal best.
Gage Crowell was eighth in the shot put.
Also setting a personal record on the day was Tyler Davis in the 400 meter dash.
For the girls’ team, Sydnee Harchelroad placed fourth in the 400 meter dash.
Hannah Nordhausen was fifth in the discus.
Tailor Lee was seventh in the discus and eighth in the shot put.
The regular season will wrap up with the Dundy County-Stratton Twilight Friday, May 9.
The District D9 meet will be in Bertrand Wednesday, May 14. Other teams participating will be Bertrand, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Hayes Center, Hitchcock County, Loomis, Maywood, Medicine Valley and Southwest.
The State Track Meet will be May 23 and 24.
