The FFA chapter at Wauneta-Palisade Schools ended its annual banquet on Tuesday, April 22, by auctioning off 15 chapter members and the chapter sponsor. Each individual was auctioned for six hours of labor.

With skills ranging from cleaning and baby-sitting to working with cattle, fixing fence and driving tractors, the group earned a total of $2,540 from bidders and donations. Chapter sponsor Marilyn Houdek said the funds raised at the labor auction will be used for chapter expenses.

Cody Barrett earned the largest purchase price, thanks to Kenny Ham’s high bid of $205. Sponsor Houdek took her turn on the auction block as well, earning the chapter $190 in the auction.

Chapter members who volunteered time included outgoing president Landon Jutten, incoming president Nicole Strand, Lesley Towery, Cameo Rector, Ellie Lee, Stephanie Acosta, Joseph Sramek, Logan Fischer, Billy Straub, Seth Straub, Cody Barrett, Tryssta Duvel, Jayden Ingold, Reagan Skow and sponsor Houdek.

Guest auctioneer Mark Fanning and Houdek wrapped up the event by thanking the crowd for their support of the FFA program.
