A 1989 graduate of Palisade High School, Libi Malone Susag, will be inducted into the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame this fall.
The ceremonies will be on Saturday, Oct. 27 during the college’s homecoming.
Libi was a two-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference shot put champion and was a two-time All-American in the event. She set the school records in the shot both indoors (45-feet, 8 inches) and outdoors (44-10+) as a senior in 1993.
In 1992, she was a member of the international track and field team sponsored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to tour Australia.
After teaching and coaching in Montana for about 15 years, Libi has been involved in agribusiness. She is now a sales department manager and sells equine supplements for Oxy-Gen and Oxy-Gen Nutritional of Canada.
She and her husband Scott Susag also farm and ranch near Scoby, Mont., raising wheat, Durham cattle and racing Quarter horses.
In addition, she trains horses and has qualified for the Women’s Professional Rodeo Finals in the barrel race each of the past three years.
