2012 brings hi-tech advances to the Nebraska State Fair. Already announced is the Smart Phone App available free to download on the App Store or Droid Market. Also new this year is the streaming video of livestock shows via StateFair.org.
Nebraska State Fair Executive Director, Joseph McDermott says, “When we built the new fairgrounds in Grand Island, we made sure that we had the latest technology—not only in each of the buildings, but from building to building as well. That’s why fairgoers can watch what’s going on in the Swine Arena and Five Points Bank Arena on the screens throughout the fairgrounds. This same video will now be available for folks to watch, via their home computer, by going to StateFair.org.”
“One of our goals when moving to Grand Island was to make our State Fair available over the internet so that family and friends can watch livestock competitions from anywhere around the world. We’ve utilized our first two years fine tuning our closed circuit broadcasts and are now ready to offer that same broadcast over the World Wide Web,” McDermott said.
To access the live feed simply to go StateFair.org and click on the “GO” button on the bottom right of the screen. Then sit back and enjoy the shows.
The Nebraska State Fair runs from August 24 through September 3 at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
