Tuesday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. MT the bank thermometer read 119 degrees. According to the High Plains Regional Climate Center, the record temperature in Wauneta since 1898 is 113 degrees on July 20, 2006. “Word on the street” says the bank’s thermometer may be five degrees off on the warm side. Off or not, it looks like we’re experiencing record or record-breaking highs this week. |
