It’s almost time for Wauneta’s annual celebration, Harvest Fest. The Wauneta Chamber and Harvest Fest committee are busy planning a fun-filled extravaganza for the entire community. Harvest Fest will begin on Thursday, July 26 and continue through Saturday, July 28.
This week, the Chamber announced the theme of this year’s celebration to be “Windy Wauneta, Catch the Breeze.” The Wauneta Breeze, in its 125th year, has been named as grand marshal of the Harvest Fest parade planned for Saturday, July 28.
The village of Wauneta turned 125 last year and will continue it’s birthday celebration this year along with the Breeze.
Harvest Fest will kick-off on Thursday, July 26 with a pancake feed at the Senior Center. Friday will be a day of sports with various ball games. Then, on Saturday it might be best to plan to spend the whole day in town.
Saturday morning will start off with the BW Telcom breakfast and the parade. Information on how to register for the parade will be available soon.
After the parade try your hand at kids games, water fights, a talent show and BBQ. Saturday’s activities will conclude with a dance at the American Legion Hall. Innocent Mischief will provide live music during the dance.
Stay tuned for more information on Harvest Fest in upcoming editions of the Breeze!
Editors Note: The staff of the Wauneta Breeze would like to thank the Harvest Fest Committee for honoring the Breeze as grand marshal of the parade.
It has been our pleasure to serve Wauneta and the surrounding communities for the past 125 years. We look forward to reporting your news for the next 125 years.
