Staff from the NRCS offices in Hayes Center and Curtis made a trip to the Palisade Attendance Center of Wauneta-Palisade Schools on April 25 to present a program about Arbor Day.
Roger Lawson with the Middle Republican NRD in Curtis tested the 56 third, fourth and fifth grade students and ten adults in attendance at the program on their knowledge of trees at the program.
Students were then broken into groups where they tested their tree knowledge even further at 15 different learning stations.
Dr. Stan Sibley welcomed everyone to the Arbor Day event. Shirley Ferguson read the Arbor Day Proclamation representing the Village of Palisade Tree Board and the Hayes Center Natural Resources Conservation Service Field Office.
