Six Wauneta-Palisade performances brought home superior ratings from the district music competition Friday in Imperial.

Vocal soloists Tayler Nordhausen, Christi Christner, Sydnee Harchelroad and Donald Hunt earned I ratings.

Nordhausen and Christner were given Outstanding Performance Awards-Honorable Mention.

The duet of flutist Nicole Strand and Leiauna Alberts on the clarinet brought home a superior rating.

Wes Anderjaska, Weyland Davis, Tyler Davis, Hayden Pollmann, Brody Nordhausen, Lorenzo Cavanaugh and Landon Jutten performed as a Percussion Ensemble that was given a I rating.

Instructor Aaron Behrends said he was pleased by how everyone performed.

“We couldn’t have done any better,” said Behrends. “There weren’t many I ratings. The kids performed well.”

The women’s chorus, men’s chorus, mixed chorus and concert band all received excellent ratings.

Also receiving II ratings were C. Christner, piano solo; Hunt and Will Werner, boys duet; Harchelroad, C. Christner and T. Nordhausen, girls trio; Lorenzo Cavanaugh, alto sax solo; Alberts, Harchelroad, Brianna Einspahr, Hannah Nordhausen, Cassidy Rathe, Ellie Lee, Trista Duvel, Cheyenne Cavanaugh and Kendra Carl, clarinet choir; John Christner, vocal solo; Werner, vocal solo; J. Christner, trumpet solo; and mixed brass ensemble.
