Bronco track season kicked off Thursday at the Perkins County Triangular.

Facing teams from Perkins County and South Platte the Lady Broncos won nine of 18 events.

Abbie Fanning took home first place finishes in the 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash. She placed second in the 800 meter run.

Emma Skelton swept the hurdle events and won the long jump with a leap of 14’1.75.”

Sydnee Harchelroad won the 200 meter dash and placed second behind Fanning in the 400. She also placed second in the long jump behind Skelton with a jump of 13’9.5.”

Harchelroad, Fanning and Skelton teamed with Brianna Einspahr to win the 4x400 relay. The four finished with a time of 4:37.

Jonee Maris placed in three events on the day. Maris won the high jump with a leap of 4’10”. She finished fourth in the 100 and third in the 200 meter dashes.

Leiauna Alberts also placed in three events. Alberts was fourth in the 400, fifth in the 800 and jumped 4’2” to finish third in the high jump.

The Lady Bronco throwers were led by Tailor Lee. Lee won the shot put with a toss of 30’2.” Brooklyn Nordhausen placed third in the event and Cassidy Rathe came in sixth. Hannah Nordhausen (25’11”), Einspahr (25’7.5”) and Nicole Strand (25’4.5) also competed.

The Lady Broncos swept second through fifth in the discus with Lee leading the way at 91’1.” Rathe placed second followed by H. Nordhausen and B. Nordhausen. Nicole Strand finished with a throw of 67’3.”

With most of the boys team gone to State Speech competition only Cody Hicks and Chris Carl competed in the shot put and discus. Hicks finished in sixth place in each event and Carl was seventh in both.
