Efforts are underway to raise an estimated $18,500 to purchase a computerized cemetery directory for Hamlet’s Meadow Lawn Cemetery. According to members of the cemetery board, efforts to raise the money needed to purchase the directory were launched in April and an account to accept donations was established at Valley Bank & Trust in Wauneta.
A special Memorial Day lunch will be served at The Way Station in Hamlet on Monday following Memorial Day services at Hamlet’s Meadow Lawn Cemetery which begin at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT.
A freewill offering will be accepted.
The directory chosen is computerized and self-contained. It will provide information on names of those buried at the cemetery and the location of those graves. Once a name is entered it will also be possible to include a photo, obituary or other information that the family of the deceased would like to have included.
For more information, you can contact Meadow Lawn Cemetery Board members Loyd Christner, Kent McMinn, Beth Smith, Jean Wach or Bill Christner.
