Village Clerk Evelyn Skelton, left, and Village Superintendent Bill Bischoff, center, accept a safety dividend check totalling $4,608 from HomeTown Agency’s Terry Engell. The check represents 16.8 percent of what the Village paid to EMC Insurance Companies for 2011 coverage as part of EMC’s Municipality Safety Dividend Program. The dividend is paid to those municipalities which maintain clean safety records. “These guys are doing a good job and I think the people of the town of Wauneta should know it,” said Engell as she congratulated Skelton and Bischoff for promoting a safe work environment and safe work practices. This $4,600 dividend will go toward park and pool expenses as have dividend funds awarded in previous years. EMC has paid safety dividends 13 of the past 17 years. (Tina Kitt | The Wauneta Breeze)
