We live in a society where we can and are expected to voice our opinion. This is a guarantee given to us by our constitution. We should notify officials, when we see someone breaking the law or when an official isn’t fulfilling their elected task.
People who observe wrong actions and speak up to correct the injustice inspire me. It is in that intent to correct an injustice that I submit this.
The structure of the county roads in Chase County has deteriorated from a poor condition to a dangerous state. There are roads that are for practical purpose impassable, and these are the roads the county claims to be fixing. Roads with holes in the middle of its surface will take more than just one semi load of material to fill and repair.
There are roads that have yet to see a grader this spring.
Some roads throughout the county can be categorized by these conditions, but most every road in the Wauneta district (Dist. 1), are in this state of disrepair or neglect.
I have attended commissioner meetings in an attempt to voice my concerns but the response was negative. So why has this happened?
It is my opinion that the Wauneta commissioner lacks the skills needed to manage people and projects. There is no positive direction or leadership to start, construct and complete any project timely or efficiently. This trend will continue until the next election.
Let’s pray none of our family members or friends will be hurt or worse on these roads.
A Constituent in the
Wauneta Commissioner District,
Terry C. Bilka, Enders
