Blair Dixon, 2009 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School, continues to make her mark in the world of collegiate track and field.
Dixon, who is currently attending Doane College, broke the GPAC record for her time in the 200-meter race at the recent GPAC Championship meet. Dixon’s time of 25.12 seconds is the new high water mark.
A recipient of All-GPAC honors, Dixon placed first in the 200-meter race, and was also a member of the first place winning 4x400-meter relay team. A third place performance in the 400-meter race, as well as a fourth place finish in the 60-meter sprint rounded out Dixon’s impressive run at the GPAC Championships.
Doane won both the men’s and women’s crowns at the meet. The men rallied from a 2-point deficit entering the final race to top Concordia, 154.50-146.60.
Doane’s women brought the title back after losing it last year, as they scored 148.50 points to top Sioux Falls’ 120-point effort.
The Doane Tiger women have won 20 of the past 21 indoor championships.
