If the results of our recent poll are to be believed, little more than a quarter of our Web readers would like to see less of 'George W. Bush and Dick Cheney' in 2009.
For a while it appeared that 'debt and the downward spiral of the economy' might become the least popular issue in your worlds, but Dubya and Bush win the big prize once again, taking 26.2 percent (11 of 42 total). Debt received 10 votes out of 42 for 23.8 percent.
'War and our military men and women being sent overseas' took third in the poll, with five votes (11.9 percent of the 42 voters).
There was a tie for the fourth-most-hated item going into the new year: 'Paris Hilton and her entourage of idiots', 'Reality TV and all it hath wrought on our society' and 'my own belly' all received four votes for 9.5 percent.
'The word maverick' received seventh with two votes for 4.8 percent. 'Political pundits and their relentless spin' and 'Rod Blagojevich and John Edwards' both received a vote for 2.4 percent.
And it's not that our readers love Paula Abdul, Brangelina and product recalls, it's just that when weighed against the others they seem pretty okay in comparison. They received no votes.
The results of the poll are not scientific and are for entertainment only.
