Lady Broncos win home matches against Southwest, Stapleton

Two more wins were added to the Wauneta-Palisade volleyball total after home games last week against Southwest and Stapleton.
The Roughriders were in town Tuesday evening, Sept. 12.
Behind the serving of Lanee Nordhausen and four kills by Faith Simpson, WP set the tone for the match early in the first game. Three aces by Michaela Dukes kept Southwest on its heels. The Broncos won the first set 25-14.
Nordhausen continued to have a presence at the service line, helping WP open up a 7-1 lead in the second set. WP won the set 25-15.
The Broncos’ only hiccup in the match came in the third set. WP was never able to open up a very large lead and fell behind 14-17. Behind the attacks for Simpson and Haylee Sandman WP tied the game at 20, then took a 22-20 lead. Southwest bounced back and the teams traded the lead before the Roughriders won the game 24-26.
