Willis Christner prepared for this week’s district meet with the Southwest Invite Saturday in Bartley.
    Christner’s first match was against 42-3 Chase Becker of Southern Valley.
    Christner was pinned in the first period.
    In his second match, Christner faced Chase County’s Levi Nance.
    “Willis moved well and had decent defense against his opponent,” Wauneta-Palisade Coach Danny Schluckebier said. “He allowed himself to go down and stayed on his hips,  then couldn’t get his hips up and got spun around and pinned.”
    Schluckebier said he was disappointed with the day. Christner wrestled in the meets largest weight class, which Schluckebier said seems to always be full of experienced kids lately.
