WP students recognized for academic achievements

Despite the unique ending to the school year, academic honors are still being announced for students across the state.
Five Wauneta-Palisade athletes have been named to the Lincoln Journal Star’s Academic All-State list.
On the Journal Star’s list are senior Ben Anderjaska (3.8, track, basketball, football), junior Zoey Boos (3.8, track and basketball), senior George Lee (4.0, football), senior Austen Rozelle (3.7, track, basketball, football) and junior Haylee Sandman (3.8, track, basketball, volleyball).
Anderjaska and Rozelle received recognition as six-time winners (three-sport recognition as juniors and seniors).
Juniors and seniors are nominated by their school’s staff. Each must carry a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.6 and be a varsity starter. A school may also nominate one non-starter.
Anderjaska and Lee was also awarded honorable mention to The World-Herald All Academic Program. Nominees had to rank first or second in their class and score at least a 32 on their ACT.
