Hannah Lovell leads WP at art contest
Three works by Hannah Lovell were named as Wauneta-Palisade’s best at last week’s RPAC Art Show in Cambridge.
Lovell took overall gold medal, first and second places. Kailee Allen placed third.
The show went well, according to WP art teacher Danny Schluckebier. “We had a very strong showing.”
WP also entered artwork by Madyson Hood, Destiny Simpson, Dakota Ingold, Harlee Jahn and Haley Walker.
Each school’s art teacher chooses the pieces to bring. At the show, the teachers judge the other school’s offerings.
A Medicine Valley student won this year’s show with a wildlife painting.
“RPAC art is the gathering that kicks off the art show season,” Schluckebier said. “It’s a great way to see what other schools are creating in their art department and talk with other art teachers about the joys and hardships of getting creative effort from students.”
