Parade grand marshal gets—and gives—lots of love

Delivering packages may have made Mr. McFeely a beloved character in Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood of Make-Believe, but the Speedy Delivery guy has nothing on Chuck Gray.
    After all, Mr. McFeely never got named a parade grand marshal.
    Gray, 66, the UPS deliveryman in Wauneta for more than three decades, will be the grand marshal for the Harvest Festival parade, which starts at 10 a.m. July 28.
    Wauneta Chamber of Commerce President Mandi Kramer said the selection reflects not only Gray’s long service here, but also the strong personal connections he forged with customers over his long tenure in the job.
    “We kind of talked at one of the Chamber meetings [that] we should do something to honor Chuck,” Kramer said.
    Gray was deeply touched by the honor.
