Chamber Chili Cook-off right around the corner
Wauneta’s official kick-off to the holiday season is quickly approaching. In the midst of the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season the Wauneta Chamber will host the annual Chamber Chili Cook-off Monday, Nov. 27 from 5 p.m. MT/6 p.m. CT to 7 p.m. MT/8 p.m. CT at the Wauneta Community Building.
There will be a chili cook-off, wreath decorating competition and entertainment provided by local youth.
Chamber members Leanne Hunt and Ariel Fanning are planning the event.
The chili cook-off will have cash prizes this year, provided by Harchelroad Motors. First place winner will be awarded $100, second place $75 and third place $50.
Hunt noted that participants must bring a roaster of chili as crock pots will not be allowed. The chili cook-off is open only for Chamber members. She said that contestants are still needed for the cook-off.
Last year was the first year Christmas wreaths were decorated instead of trees. This year will also feature a wreath decorating competition. This competition is open to any community member.
Wauneta Chamber Bucks prizes will be awarded for the wreath decorating contest. First place will be awarded $20, second place $10 and third place $5.
Contact Hunt at 308-350-1933 to enter in the chili cook-off or wreath competition by Nov. 22.
