WCTC Happenings

Happy New Year from me to all of you readers of the Breeze.
Since our facility became Wauneta Care and Therapy Center I found it hard to keep up my interest. I’ve had a spell of feeling “down” and that isn’t good. So I tell myself, “self” get over how you feel!
I wrote an article in January on, “Do you remember New Years resolutions?” Do you still think of doing that? I didn’t think mine years ago were carried out very successfully. So this decision to get back to new columns could be registered under a mid-February resolution.
So with some friendly suggestions like, “I miss your column.” OK, I’ll keep looking for things to write about!
Nothing has really changed here, expect our name and the staff here, got that taken care of right away. Even my friends who write to me have it under control.
We do have more activities. There is something to get us out of our rooms most every day.
You should see us kicking the ball! It’s a pretty large plastic ball and the idea is to keep it in motion. A few can kick it hard enough to have it bounce up to the ceiling light. That might break the plastic piece covering the light. If Ray happens to come by at the time he is tall enough to get the cover back on.
We have a sing-a-long with a record of fellows singing the song and us following our leader. Song like “Polly Wolly Diddle” and “She’ll be comin’ round the mountain when she come.”
So that keeps us happy! Another game we play is on the T.V. called “Family Feud.” One game that helps us think is “Hang man.”
