WCTC Happenings

What’s happening at our nursing home of Wauneta Care and Therapy Center? It’s Christmasy!
There is one pretty tree with white lights. I remember we had two trees last year. A couple of tables in the foyer area have extra pretty red tinsel rope and among that are some timely figurines.
Karla’s big bulletin board is covered with a nativity scene with all the characters who represent those who came to see the Christ child.
The staff and employees served a nice pre-Christmas meal to all residents and many of their guests one evening this week. They served the choice of chili or potato soup with a sandwich and a nice dessert. I, as a former cook for my family and helping serve some large groups, recall when I was a Rebekah and those ladies served many meals for large groups in the lodge hall above the post office and carrying everything up dozens of stairs to get up there.
That hall was the only place in town to handle large groups. I’d like to mention some of the willing workers. I think of Clara Hoff, Edith Krausnick, Faye Hanna, Ann Lee and there were those we planned and cooked all day to serve the banquet and the rest of us just helped.
