Wauneta United Methodist Women met March 9, 2017. President Betty Vette opened the meeting with prayer. Ten members attending repeated the UMW Purpose. Carol Maddux gave the meditation.
    The minutes of the Feb. 9, 2017 meeting had been given to members. MOTION: by Tina Kitt second by Sharon Walgren carried to APPROVE the minutes. Janet Applegarth gave the treasurer report. MOTION: by Carol Maddux, second by Donna Nichols carried to APPROVE the treasurer report.

    Communication was: Thank you from Epworth for the monetary gift; a letter of invitation from Epworth inviting the UMW to become a pledge partner and an invitation to Palisade’s World Day of Prayer.
    Unfinished Business: President Betty reported on hearing from one UMW group on the organization of their quarter store. She is hoping to hear from other UMW’s on their quarter store.
    New Business: Janet Applegarth presented the 2017 budget. MOTION: by Donna Nichols and seconded by Sharon Walgren carried to APPROVE the budget. The St. Patrick’s dinner will be March 12. Palisade pancake feed will be March 12 in the evening. Evening Circle will be doing door hangers for Sunrise Heights at a date to be announced. MOTION: by Janet Applegarth and Betty Vette seconded by Eunice Mukindia carried to APPROVE that March 23, 2017 will be a Day of Giving to the 150th Anniversary of the Legacy Fund. The UMCOR School Kits will be sewn March 30 and 31. April 1 is the spring district meeting in Gering. April 28–April 30 is the United Methodist Women Spiritual
Retreat at Camp Comeca.
