Sunday’s WVFD first annual pancake feed goes over well with the community

The Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) had its first annual pancake feed Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Wauneta Senior Center.
Approximately 90 people attended the event, and enjoyed the pancake, sausage and egg feed.
“It was a learning curve. People showed up exactly at 11:30 a.m. (MT/12:30 p.m. CT) and we weren’t ready. There were people backed all the way to the door,” said Fire Chief Tanner Bardsley.
All of the food was provided, cooked and served by WVFD fire fighters. There are currently 20 members of the WVFD.
After people enjoyed their meal, door prize winners were announced. All prizes were provided by the fire department.
Winners included Lois Hoff, Tod Bunker, Diane Cummings, Dawn Doetker, Donna Nichols and Doretta Anderson.
