Parade another winner—‘Let’s Go There’

Based on its theme, it seemed the public took the parade committee’s advice: “Chase County Fair—Let’s Go There.”
Hundreds lined the streets in Imperial Aug. 18 for another edition of the fair parade, when the weather cooperated, entries took home Chamber Bucks prizes and youngsters hauled home buckets of candy and other goodies.
“We feel it went together quite well,” said Parade Co-Chairman Chris Lee.
“It was a beautiful day for it.”
He and fellow co-chairman Randi Rusk organized this year’s parade for the fair board as Imperial Chamber of Commerce members.
They took in the entries, and with their committee lined them up Saturday morning for the 10:30 a.m. start.
In all, there were 65 entries this year, Lee said.
Youths not only had bags and buckets of candy as souvenirs, they also seemed to take home more tokens like bouncy balls, cold treats and Frisbees, Lee said.
