Christmas is season to be extra generous to Food Pantry

Christmas time brings to mind images of festive decorations, pretty packages, favorite Christmas carols and heartfelt worship services.
But it also reminds people of family and friends and the sight and aroma of delicious food to be shared at the table.
Nancy Terryberry, an officer on the Food Pantry committee, commented that as Christmastime nears, the pantry needs an abundance of holiday-type food donations to provide area families with the ability to create that special Christmas dinner.
The pantry can always use soup, canned fruit, cereal, canned vegetables, bottled juice, peanut butter, sugar, flour, butter, pasta, toilet paper, shampoo and dish soap.
“We always need most any type of food, paper goods and toiletries,” Terryberry said.
But, at Christmastime, the pantry also needs turkeys, hams, potatoes, pie filling and bread, among other things, she added.
“People especially like Stove Top dressing,” she commented.
The one thing they don’t need is canned green beans. She said they have a large supply already.
