Christmas Carol Festival celebrates Zion Lutheran’s 100th anniversary Sunday

The community is invited to Zion Lutheran Church this Sunday for a 100th anniversary celebration of Christmas carols and musical entertainment.
The event will begin at 3 p.m.
Joel Grosbach, Lutheran Church Kantor, organist and choir director, has been working with a community choir, bell choir and other instrumentalists for several weeks to fine tune his arrangements and prepare the musical performers to present a unique and enjoyable Christmas holiday event for the people of the community.
Grosbach said the choir and several instrumentalists  will be leading the audience in singing a number of Christmas carols both familiar and new.
Pastor David Kahle of Zion Lutheran Church will give a brief commentary on each carol before it is sung.
The bell choir and the community choir will also perform some special numbers, said Grosbach. The addition of the instrumentalists will enhance the musical experience for the Christmas Carol Festival, he added.
The singers in the 24-member community choir include  Jeanette Munger, Lori Beard, Susan Jaeger, Bonnie Majors, Marisa Kunnemann, Annie Pursley, Laura Gaschler, Gina Blocher, Tina Grosbach, Phyllis Mock, Shelby Day, Carol Thompson, Dawn Tuller, Rhonda Smith, Amber Grosbach, Janet Keiser, Linda Moser, Doreen Mohr, Jan Banks, James Peterson, Stan Hofman, Lloyd Smith, Troy Worth and Kyle Sorensen.
