It is the time of year when wheat dust canvasses the prairie, and farmers are spending long hours behind the wheel’s of large equipment. Wheeler Ranch, owners of the combine pictured above, is one of the many ranches and farms that has recently started wheat harvest. Equipment is usually moving by mid-morning or early afternoon, depending on the amount of moisture in the fields which was higher earlier this week due to thunderstorms. In the aftermath of the storms, many farmers started their mornings by checking for damage in fields and on equipment.
