Nebraska Extension Farm Management Competition coming in March

Do you think you know how to manage a farm best? Want to put that statement to the test?
The West Central Research and Extension Center (WCREC) in North Platte is giving farmers the opportunity to do just that with a field competition for managing corn under center pivot irrigation.
The competition begins in mid-March and will last until January 2018. Participants will be making farm management decisions representing a 120 acre field.
Participants will have control over six parameters including irrigation management, nitrogen management, hybrid selection, population density, grain marketing and insurance selection.
The Upper Republican NRD is looking for a participant to nominate for the competition. The areas evaluated are: most economically profitable, highest input use efficiency and highest grain yield.
