Wrestling seasons ends with disappointment at districts

The Wauneta-Palisade wrestling season came to an end at districts Saturday in Sutherland.
Colby Hoskovec took to the mat Friday and lost his first match by technical fall.
Hoskovec’s match early Saturday morning was the most heartbreaking for the Broncos. After a whirlwind first period, Hoskovec found himself trailing 2-8. Hoskovec deferred to start the second period and his opponent chose bottom. Though Hoskovec controlled the period, he was unable to score any points. Hoskovec once more started on top in the third period and dominated. Out of the two-minute period, Hoskovec had his opponent on his back for 1:38. The ref gave Hoskovec three back points but wouldn’t give him the pin, ending Hoskovec’s season with a 5-8 defeat.
