WP enjoys the sun at Hitchcock County Invite, set 16 PRs

The Wauneta-Palisade track teams’ took advantage of the nice weather last Thursday while at the Hitchcock County Invite.
    Both team finished third.
    WP Coach Dawn Doetker said it was a nice, small meet for the young Broncos.
    Doetker said the team still needs to work on technique and will be fine tuning throws and jumps, it was a good meet for building confidence. WP set 16 personal bests.
    Michaela Dukes picked up first in the 300 meter hurdles (PR) and second place in the 100 meter hurdles (PR) and long jump (PR). Alejandra Almanza finished second in the 400 and 800 (PR) meter runs. Faith Simpson was first in the 100 meter hurdles, second in the discus and third in the high jump and shot put. Reagan Skow finished third in the discus (PR) and fifth in the shot put. JoAnna Lawler’s sixth in the 200 (PR in prelims).
    Dukes, Lawler, Almanza and Dakota Ingold combined to place third in the 4x100 relay.
