A team 6-4 for WP junior high volleyball

Junior high sports are all about learning and growth. Players and coaches with this season’s Wauneta-Palisade junior high volleyball team say they met those goals.
Sixteen girls, eight of each eighth graders and seventh graders, made up the team.
The A team finished with a 6-4 record. The B team was 4-3, playing many close matches.
Coach Terra Higgins said the girls did an excellent job on both A team and B team learning their rotations.
“The A team worked hard all season on making passing their focus so that they could set up as many balls as possible,” Higgins said, while “the B team girls set goals for serving and passing and really improved in these areas throughout the season.”
Higgins said her favorite part about coaching JH volleyball is seeing the huge improvements the girls make throughout the season.
“It is so much fun to see their excitement on the court when everything finally clicks and they make their serves over the net or pass up a perfect ball.”
Higgins said her players were at their best at the Hitchcock County Tournament late in the season.
“The girls passed well, which led to being able to set the ball up a lot.”
Coach Tori Guillen said she was very proud of all the girls and how hard they worked this season.
