Senior class makes it to playoffs all four years, finishes careers 23-13

Experience was a luxury on this season’s Wauneta-Palisade football team.
Seven seniors and a good group of juniors helped lead WP to a 7-2 record, culminating with a playoff berth.
Team captains for the season were Dalton Harchelroad, Duncan Rector and Caid Doetker.
Harchelroad was the team’s leading rusher.
WP Co-Head Coach Joseph Frecks said Harchelroad was a good leader and had a great work ethic.
Frecks said Rector was solid as quarterback and defensive end for the Broncos.
“He was a solid leader and brought a lot of experience at quarterback,” Frecks said.
Doetker led the Broncos in tackles. Frecks said Doetker did a nice job stepping into the role of middle linebacker and was an excellent blocker as a tight end.
Dennis Cavanaugh benefited from work in the weight room, Frecks said. He added Cavanaugh was steady and dependable, while bringing good athleticism to the defensive line.
Joel Maris was a receiver and played in the defensive backfield.
