Pieces coming together on the court for WP volleyball team

Practices have been going well for the Wauneta-Palisade volleyball team, and Head Coach Terra Higgins said she’s seen great improvements from her team.
“They are starting to put the pieces together on the floor and look more like a unit each day rather than six individuals on the floor,” said Higgins.
Returning letterwinners and starters are senior Monique Gooden, junior Michaela Dukes and sophomores Haylee Sandman and Payton Yearous.
Higgins said she has been very impressed with the returning letter winners and their commitment in the weight room and going to camps this summer.
“They have really been setting the tone for the younger girls in the years to come,” Higgins said. “Same goes on the court during practice and conditioning, they show up and have been going 110 percent each day”
The Broncos will dive into the season Friday against a tough Hitchcock County team.
Higgins said her team is ready to put its hard work to the test and get the season rolling.
Overall, WP only has four other nights at home, including a triangular with Kansas schools St. Francis and Rawlins County.
