Personal records fall as Broncos hit the track

The Wauneta-Palisade track team has had a busy week, running in meets Saturday and Monday.

Sutherland
    The Broncos were in at the Sutherland Booster Invite Saturday. WP set 23 personal bests on the day.
    “What a meet for us,” said WP Head Coach Dawn Doetker. “ It was a very big day for us.”
    The boys’ team finished third behind North Platte St. Pat’s and Hershey. Placing for the WP boys’ squad was Cash Yearous, fourth in the 1600 meter run and second in the 3200 meter run (PR); Duncan Rector, fifth in the 110 meter high hurdles (PR); Greg Gaston, first in the high jump and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (PR); and Dennis Cavanaugh, fourth in the discus (PR).
    WP placed in all three relays, third in the 4x800 meter relay and fifth in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
    Placing for the girls’ side, Alejandra Almanza was fifth in the 1600 meter run; Michaela Dukes, third in the 100 meter hurdles (PR) and 300 meter hurdles (PR); Haylee Dike, sixth in the 100 meter hurdles; and Reagan Skow, fourth in the shot put.
