Nordhausen, Christner get in the win column at SV Invite Friday

Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers Evan Nordhausen and Willis Christner got good confidence boosters Friday at the Southern Valley Invite.
At 113 pounds, Nordhausen earned his first career pin.
“Evan put up a great fight his first three matches and finally found his footing his last match and pinned the kid,” said WP Coach Danny Schluckebier. “He was very excited and completely focused him into working harder at practice.”
Christner had a busy day, wrestling in five matches and earning two pins.
Schluckebier said Christner worked hard and put up a fight in all his matches.
“He is learning and getting quicker and managing his strength better,” Schluckebier said. “Willis was more than pumped, he wouldn’t quit talking about how he wants to get better and keep winning.”
Schluckebier added Christner has the biggest heart on the team by far.
Colton Barrett was unable to wrestle Friday, but Schluckebier said he was a superb leader.
