Lady Broncos split games with Med. Valley, Sutherland

Last week didn’t go as well as it could have for the Wauneta-Palisade girls’ basketball team, but the Broncos were able to get a home win Friday night over Sutherland.
The Broncos lost Thursday at Curtis to 4-14 Medicine Valley.
Both teams shot more free throws than they made baskets. In the first half, WP made 4-10 while MV hit 5-14. The Raiders only made one first-half basket.
Maycee Wheeler tossed in three field goals for WP in the first half and Destany Simpson added two of her own. The Broncos held a 14-7 halftime lead.
Wheeler made two more baskets in the third quarter, as did Haylee Sandman. MV matched that field goal total, but made four free throws.
WP still controlled the game 23-19 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Raiders played the game with six players. With one fouling out in the third quarter, MV was still able to charge past the Broncos.
