Hoskovec third at Chase County Invite Saturday

Wauneta-Palisade’s Colby Hoskovec won three of five pool matches at the Chase County Invite to earn a third-place finish. Hoskovec has won seven matches in the last two weeks. “Colby is having a great week,” WP Coach Danny Schluckebier said. “We look for him to continue to do well and stay hungry for competition. Saturday was a good ,but tough, day of wrestling.” At 120 pounds, Evan Nordhausen and Hunter Miner wrestled the first and second place finishers, respectively, in their first match in the double-elimination bracket. Schluckebier said 120 pounds was a tough group. “Evan has a couple things to iron out before the next meet,” Schluckeiber said. “Hunter didn’t wrestle as well as we all hoped. His technique is great, but he is in a tough class this year, which will make him a better wrestler.” To read the full story, subscribe to the e-edition online or call the Breeze at 308-394-5389 to subscribe to the print edition.
