Broncos battling injuries, districts moved to Friday

Competition is always tough at the Dundy County-Stratton Twilight. Add in some untimely injuries, and Wauneta-Palisade coaches took a cautious approach to Friday’s meet. Several on the Bronco boys’ side were withheld from events or skipped finals to make sure they’re ready for this week’s districts.
    WP did get some welcome news when the NSAA moved all of Wednesday’s Class D and A district track meets to Friday because of forecasted weather sweeping across the state.
    “Dennis and Duncan led the Broncos for us,” WP Head Coach Dawn Doetker said. “They did an awesome job motivating our team in the field events!”
    Doetker is hopeful several members of the girls’ side will be ready for districts also.
