Before the Homecoming football game kicked off last Thursday, Sept. 28, both Wauneta and Wallace fans stood to honor all present veterans.
The Wauneta-Palisade Schools’ fight song rang loudly and proudly throughout the streets of Wauneta last Thursday, Sept. 28, during the annual downtown Homecoming pep rally.
The Wauneta-Palisade Schools’ board approved the installation of a new track during the August board meeting. Since approval, wheels have been turning at a fast rate to finish the project before the cold weather sets in. The school concrete work is a total of $25,000 fixes the concrete along the bleachers, fills in the current track and converts the track into the metric system. Once the cement work is complete there will be a half-inch rubber track installed with a polyurethane sealant. Baxter Concrete has been working on the project the last couple of weeks.
Wauneta-Palisade Schools was one of the 22 stops on the National Save a Life Tour, a safe driving awareness program, last Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The Wauneta Palisade Schools’ board met Sept. 15 to approve the 2017-2018 budget at a special budget meeting.
