The event is normally held at the chapter’s spring banquet, but was moved up this year to provide better coordination between students and winning bidders. An unofficial total showed it raised more than $3,500 for the chapter. Final bid totals were not available at press time and will be published in next week’s Wauneta Breeze.

Wauneta-Palisade 2019 homecoming royalty candidates were announced Tuesday morning. Candidates selected by the junior class are (front row, left to right) JoAnna Lawler, Michaela Dukes, Faith Lemon, (back row, left to right) Cord Lee, Luke Blackman and Gunner Goings. Judging by this year’s numbers, enrollment in the Wauneta-Palisade School District is stable, and even saw a slight uptick for this school year.
