WP Schools Board discuss RPAC prices

The February Wauneta-Palisade School Board meeting, Feb. 6, 2018, did not take up too much time.
After discussion at the RPAC Superintendent Meeting Randy Geier, WP Superintendent, came to the board with a possible price change for RPAC games.
Currently WP charges $4 for students and $4 for adults. The conference is encouraging schools to up the price for RPAC admission to $5 for students and $5 for adults.
Geier recommended that WP wait to see what the majority of other schools decide to ensure uniform prices with the rest of the conference.
Board chairman Jon Anderjaska agreed saying that most people will spend what they don’t on admittance at the concession stands.
“Most people come with a certain amount of cash in their pocket to use that night. Whatever direction we choose to take we won’t be losing a significant amount of revenue,” said Anderjaska.

Board members discussed and approved the signing of the 2018-2019 negotiated agreement between the district and Wauneta-Palisade Education Association with a base salary of $34,400.
The new negotiation has an $800 increase or 2.88 percent increases on the budget.
The board commended teachers for not “coming in and wanting to shoot the moon with their offers.”
The board noted that things were able to be finalized within two meetings with lots of good team work.
